I read the second (third) book in this series a while ago and was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. (See previous review.) As I said, it had been awhile. I was recently on a flight from Florida to Las Vegas for business trip and came across "Tijuana Nights" in my kindle library and searched for the other titles. I started out with "London Nights" the prequel to the series and was instantly caught up again in the world of Mack, Chase, River, and Gabe as they recruited the reluctant "Call Girl" wanna be (or maybe not wanting to be but trying it out anyhow) Ms. McKenna. London Nights filled in the blanks I still had after Tijuana Nights, adding some twists and motivations to the characters that I had been unaware of. I purchased "Venice Nights" as soon as we landed planning on reading it on the way home at the end of the week. Well I couldn't wait that long and was half way through by the time I left. This volume of the series benefits from having the characters well developed at the beginning and I could not put it down. From the fashion world of Venice, to the sweat shops of China, Venice Nights delivered on action, suspense and of course a little romance! Another high point of this series is that it benefits from great editing! The plot and storyline flowed seamlessly along and all three books are free of the glaring errors I usually encounter in independently published works. If you are looking for an exciting series that will keep you glued to your screen you really do not have to look any further then the story of Mack! The historian turned shunned lover, turned call girl, turned ASSASSIN! A well earned 5 Stars... Now where is "Paris Nights"??? Ms Hunt??Product details

This book introduces you to McKenna Carmichael, she is part of a small group who kill for hire. She is following the important rule of not killing innocent people.
With Venice Nights, Leigh K. Hunt has created a thrilling story with a hint of romance, the second instalment of the Nights Series. The story comprises a variety of characters with sufficient depth and a pretty good combination of fast-paced and slower-paced interactions. 'Mack' and her colleagues Chase, River and Gabe find themselves in competition with other killing teams when reaching the conclusion that Luigi seems to be innocent. I had a good time reading Venice Nights - it is an enjoyable read. I was drawn into the story on Mack's lonely train ride. Mack is a very complex character, sometimes on the verge of being annoyingly stubborn. The story has some very interesting turns and is cleverly elaborated, making it harder to put away as the adventure proceeds.
This is for you if you like thrillers with a touch of romance, stubborn protagonists and clever turns.
The second book in a promising series - to read again.

I really enjoyed this Mack instalment and can't wait for Paris Nights. Mack is really starting to question her role as assassin and Chases girlfriend. Did she rush into things too soon? Only time will tell.
