Bee The Princess of the Dwarfs eBook Anatole France Reviews
Brought back childhood memories of sitting under a tree and reading great stories like this. I miss that simple part of my life
Lovely, charming fairy tale. It is an excellent translation and one should not be surprised at the content considering the time period it was written, who the author is, and that it is very much of the fairy tale genre. It is appropriate for children, though it does not promote a particularly strong female character (contrary to what the title and book description may have you believe) and Honey-Bee did not strike me as the main character either. The best way to solve the lack of a strong feminine role would be to read a wide variety of books with a wide variety of characters with a wide variety of personalities.
A children's tale of friendship, love and sacrifice. You truly love someone when you care more for their happiness than your own.
This was a pleasant tale for children. Perhaps it will become more popular with the children of today. If not it's a shame.
This is a wonderful fantasy story makes great bedtime reading to young children. Engaging characters, interesting events and some slightly challenging concepts to encourage questions and parental discussion. This could (and I think should) be made into a movie.
Short and sweet. Sometimes you want a familiar story minus the violence and horrifically long journeys. This would be a good starter story to introduce youngsters to the underworld of Tolkien, which was required reading in my day. I did enjoy it.
I was disappointed that this reprint did not have the old original book plates, which were wonderful and beautiful works of art. They really lent an aura of mystery to the story.
